Arrangements

In the eighteenth century, classical and early romantic composers wrote for the Harmoniemusik, a traditional ensemble with flexible instrumentation that included between six and ten woodwinds and horns. The most common repertoire performed by the Harmonie ensemble was opera transcriptions and arrangements. In a similar fashion, the nineteenth-century Mexican composer Melesio Morales’s opera Ildegonda and five of his lyric songs were the base of my DMA research and arrangement project for double wind quintet in the Harmoniemusik tradition.
